Mental Health Awareness Month: A Personal Reflection and Our Commitment to Support.

May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of mental health issues that affect countless individuals around the world. This month is particularly poignant for me, as I have personally faced significant mental health challenges, deeply impacted by the loss of my father to suicide in 2008. His passing left a void in my life and brought with it a struggle that I have grappled with ever since. Understanding his feelings of despair, I have had moments where I too felt overwhelmed.

In my journey, I have learned that feelings of being a burden, or believing that others might be happier without you, are signs that one needs support—a lesson that came at a high personal cost. If you ever find yourself or notice someone else harboring such thoughts, it's crucial to seek help immediately. Mental health struggles are more common than you might think, and no one should have to face them alone.

In response to this, and to mark the launch of our new blog, we are committed to not just raising awareness but actively supporting those in need. Starting this month, we will donate 10% of every order to organizations dedicated to providing mental health services to individuals who cannot afford them. We believe in the power of community and the importance of every individual’s mental health, aiming to foster a supportive environment through every story shared and every order placed.

Our blog is more than a platform; it’s a community. As we share stories and insights about mental health, we invite you to join us in making a tangible difference. Your support allows us to extend a helping hand to those who need it most, ensuring no one has to face their darkest moments alone. Together, we can build a more understanding and supportive world.

Resources for Support

If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts or mental health issues, there are numerous resources available to provide support and guidance. Here are some valuable contacts:

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (US): Call 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) for free and confidential support 24/7.

  • Crisis Text Line (US): Text "HELLO" to 741741 to communicate with a trained crisis counselor, available 24/7.

These services are staffed by compassionate individuals who understand what you're going through and can offer support and advice. Remember, reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles. By opening up about our experiences and seeking help when needed, we can manage our mental health and find ways to live fulfilling lives. Let us support each other and spread awareness, not just this month, but every day.

In a world where you can be anything… DON’T BE SHITTY!
